After That,the event opened by Ms NHU NGUYEN, CEO of New Digital Sdn Bhd – A Market Access Digital and Tech Company, based in Penang.

She mentioned that Vietnam’s exquisite exports in the realm of Food and Beverage, to connect businesses with eager Malaysian buyers, and to foster valuable relationships between Vietnamese and Malaysian companies. The Trading Fair offers a strategic opportunity for businesses to explore collaborations, showcase innovations, and engage in fruitful transactions. This fair is more than a showcase; it’s a platform for cultural exchange, business networking, and, of course, an exploration of the tastes that both nations have to offer.

Next, Ms Cynthia, CEO of Sunshine Wholesale Mart Sdn Bhd shared the videos about New Sunshine Central Mall that would be opening and completed by end of quarter 1, year 2024.

The event continued with Mr Cuong who gave official opening remarks for the Viet Nam Food and Beverage Mini- Fair

He mentioned that the economic progress and global integration achieved by Vietnam since the inception of “doi moi” (renovation) have positioned the country as a robust economy, particularly in the agriculture and food processing sectors. He also said that approximately 3,000 Vietnamese products received halal certification from a center recognized by JAKIM of Malaysia, facilitating market entry into Malaysia and other Muslim-majority nations.

The event followed by speech of guest of honour, YB Wong Hon Wai – Exco of Penang Tourism and Creatives. He said that Penang is an international city which had 4 foreign consulates general and 23 foreign honorary consults, ranking first among all states. It was good external relations to have such joint activities with other countries such as Vietnamese Food Festival, the German Oktoberfest and the Latin American Film Festival and French Film Festival in Penang. Apart from that, he mentioned on the international events that attracted many tourists to Penang such as Dragon Boat Race happening last week and the Penang Bridge International Marathon this week
